June 2008 Nokia increase the pressure with its £209m takeover of the Symbian mobile phone operating system group. This maybe in part a response to Microsoft and Google's seeming mobile ambitions If Europe's competition regulator does give thego-ahead, then Nokia will buy out Symbian it is understood as a not-for-profit foundation that any company can join. Any delay in the Euro Regulators decision will allow Microsoft to minimise any advantages of the take over whilst Googles Android proposal is expected late this year & the pace of the Regulator could have a significant effect on the triumvirates individual competitiveness. Should the competiveness of the market continue then both the pace of technology innovation & clients alike could benefit greatly.
